All you need is: 

Instant coffee – 1 tbsp

Granulated sugar – 1 tbsp

Hot water – 1 tbsp

Milk – 4 ounces

Cognac/Whiskey/Dark Rum/Bourbon – 2 tbsp 

Method of Preparation:

Take a tall glass and fill it with ice. 

Use a large mixing bowl to combine all the ingredients. Considering you will be whipping it vigorously, chances are that it will spill out. 

Take a hand mixer and keep it on medium-high. Blend the mixture till you get a smooth and frothy texture. It takes about 3 minutes to get a fluffy mix. 

The actions should be swift now! Add the milk to the tall glass (on top of the ice). Place the froth on top of the milk. Use a spoon or a spatula to transfer the foam to the tall glass.

One-cup curd

Two cups of water

Three tablespoon of mint and coriander leaves

One teaspoon of roasted cumin powder

One teaspoon of chopped ginger

One-forth teaspoon black salt

Salt to taste


Two-teaspoon oil

Half-teaspoon cumin seed and green chili paste


One piece of coal

Few curry leaves

Two cloves

One teaspoon oil


In a blender pour all the ingredients and blend until you get a smooth liquid. In a pan, add the oil, cumin seed, and green chili paste. After a while, add it to your chaas. In a bowl, add curry leaves and cloves and pour hot oil over a piece of coal and cover with aluminum foil. Leave it for a few minutes, then remove and serve in a glass.
